Experience the city’s freshest take on artisanal heritage at Manifattura Tabacchi, an expansive urban project offering passionately curated installations, pop ups, vintage markets,
and more. SUPERDUPER Hats is one of our favourite stores!

Located in the vibrant and evolving district of Novoli, Florence, Manifattura Tabacchi is a unique cultural and creative hub that marries industrial heritage with contemporary innovation. Once the home of a tobacco factory, this sprawling complex has been transformed into a multidisciplinary space that serves as a meeting point for creatives, entrepreneurs, artists, and the local community.

The Manifattura Tabacchi project was launched in 2016 and has been steadily growing since, offering an impressive array of events, workshops, art exhibitions, and community initiatives. The space is not only a homage to Florence’s industrial past but also a symbol of its forward-thinking vision, promoting innovation, sustainability, and the arts.

One of the standout aspects of Manifattura Tabacchi is the creative studios where artists and designers collaborate to develop new ideas. These spaces have become a breeding ground for innovation, with activities ranging from fashion design to visual arts. The area also hosts contemporary art exhibitions, such as recent collaborations with Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi, and design events that draw visitors from across Italy and beyond.

In addition to its cultural initiatives, Manifattura Tabacchi offers a mix of boutiques, cafés, and concept stores, making it a place where locals and tourists alike can spend hours exploring. The transformation of this industrial site has created a space where creativity, business, and leisure come together, encouraging a sense of community while supporting sustainable urban growth.

SuperDuper Hats, located in Florence and founded in 2010 by Matteo Gioli and Veronica Cornacchini, brings the art of hat-making back to life. What began as a passion project in their kitchen has grown into a global brand. Based in the artistic hub of Manifattura Tabacchi, SuperDuper combines high-quality craftsmanship with a fresh, modern approach. Known for their handmade, uniquely crafted hats, they source materials like felt from Portugal and straw from South America, all while keeping their production rooted in Florence.

With collaborations with brands like Stella Jean and The Kooples, SuperDuper is beloved by artists and fashion icons alike, from Patti Smith to Lorenzo Jovanotti. Their dedication to reviving this nearly forgotten craft is reflected in their hats, which each carry a small, natural stone to symbolize uniqueness.

Explore this local treasure while visiting Florence, and discover why their hats have captured hearts worldwide.
