Feast of San Lorenzo

On August 10th, the feast day of San Lorenzo, the neighbourhood around the Basilica transforms for one evening. Tables in the streets, free pasta with meat sauce, watermelon, DJ sets under the basilica’s façade into the night. At midnight, if the sky is clear, the Perseids cross the roofline. It is a local ritual — unannounced, unphotographed — and worth finding.
