Each July, the Firenze dall’Alto series opens Florence’s historic towers and city walls for vertical views of the city — access that is rarely available outside this period. From the top of Palazzo Vecchio’s tower, from the medieval walls of the Oltrarno, the perspective changes entirely: warm stone, cypress, the particular stillness of a July afternoon seen from height. A different argument for a city usually experienced at street level.
