Every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday Morning

On Wednesday, Friday, Saturday mornings in the Piazza del Tiratoio, the Mercato di San Frediano sets up for a few hours — the Oltrarno neighbourhood’s small local market, known to the people who live near it and not much further. Fresh produce, cut flowers, bread. The smell is of the morning itself: damp stone, basil, something warm from the bread stall. It closes before noon.
