The new pool at Dar Al Dall opened this October on the roof of the house, the latest chapter in a restoration that took seven years and has bathing at its centre.

A new pool
Dar Al Dall was restored over seven years, joining three separate properties back into a single house: the principal riad, a small apartment that had long been separated from it, and the former communal oven, where the kitchen and part of the spa now sit. Bathing is the idea that runs through all of it. The rooms have their own bathing spaces, the spa has its own, and the house is arranged around them.
At Dar Al Dall, water has never been an amenity. It belongs to the architecture, and the pool on the roof extends that idea into the open air.
The pool is the newest of those spaces. It was begun during the restoration, paused midway, and taken up again later; it opened this October and completes what was started then. The house was designed by Bruno Melotto of Trab Design, with interiors by RecDi8 Studio in Barcelona.
November days in Marrakech are mild, usually in the low twenties, and the roof is the best place in the house to spend the middle of them. Dar Al Dall holds no alcohol licence, and the house makes mocktails instead.
Guests who are not staying with us are welcome at the spa, and at dinner through A Private Evening at Dar Al Dall. Our Curator team can arrange the details.
