MACAAL Autumn Season

By Alec Ferland  | Tuesday, 6th October 2026

Autumn marks the opening of MACAAL’s new programme — the Museum of African Contemporary Art launches its season as the city’s gallery circuit comes back to life.

In the Al Maaden district, fifteen minutes from the medina, MACAAL is an independent, non-profit institution dedicated to African contemporary art with a collection and programme that draws curators and collectors from Europe and beyond. Autumn marks the opening of the new season — new exhibitions, new acquisitions, and the moment Marrakech’s wider gallery circuit launches its new programming in parallel. Before the international visitors arrive for the film festival later in the year, the city’s galleries are at their most open and least crowded.
