Mustapha Lamine is known as the ‘King of Méchoui’ in Marrakech’s Medina. Starting at 6am, he meticulously prepares whole lambs and sheep in a terracotta oven dug in the ground, which is then served with bread and cumin salt.
It’s a traditional delicacy, a taste of Morocco’s rich culinary heritage that it is said even King Hassan II himself has called on to enjoy.
You’ll find Chez Lamine in the Mechouis Alley behind Place Jemaa el-Fna, but as a guest, we will arrange for you to enjoy your Mechoui on a nearby roof terrace.
