28 June – 29 July
Pratolino Medici Park, Florence
As the city succumbs to the midsummer heat, the Musart Festival migrates to the shaded, verdant sanctuary of the Pratolino Medici Park. This UNESCO World Heritage site, situated on a cool ridge overlooking the city, transforms the festival from a standard concert series into an ethereal outdoor stage.
Against the towering backdrop of the Apennine Colossus — an 11-metre statue created by Flemish sculptor Jean de Boulogne in the late 1580s — the program weaves together orchestral masterpieces, contemporary music, and avant-garde dance. We suggest arriving as the light begins to fail, allowing time to explore the park’s monumental grottos and statues before the music begins. Under the canopy of centuries-old oaks, the Musart Festival strips away the noise of the city’s culture-seeking crowds, offering instead a moonlit communion with the arts that feels entirely separate from time.
