Abitazione

Florence

In the Northern edge of Florence is our Abitazione building, a modern tribute to Florence’s rich tapestry of artistic heritage. Our design is one of contrasts, a blend of the city’s age-old charm with today’s aesthetics, a restored building of decadent frescos, baroque portraits, velvet furniture, and a feeling of palatial spaciousness unique in our city.

Let our elevator take you to your residence, and let our curators arrange experiences to befit your surroundings.

Curator's pick

From private artist studio visits to sunrise hot-air balloon rides, each activity is designed to reflect the city’s creative spirit—your way"

Favourite spot in Florence

"One of my favourite spots for a classic Florentine stroll is Via Tornabuoni, where designer boutiques line grand Renaissance palaces, and art-filled churches frame each end. Stop for a glass of prosecco at Procacci or mozzarella at Obicà mozzarella bar, then take in river views or visit the Strozzi Palace, Ferragamo Museum, or Casamonti Collection—especially magical under the winter holiday lights"

Favourite time of year in Florence

"While every season has its charm, my favourite time in Florence is autumn into early winter, when the air cools, the crowds thin, and the countryside is at its most vivid. It’s also the season of the wine and olive oil harvest—when menus turn to rich Tuscan fare featuring porcini, pumpkin, and my favourite: the prized white truffle"

Where do I go for great art in the city?

"Art is everywhere in Florence—truly a museo all’aperto—from churches and palaces to bridges, squares, and libraries, earning its UNESCO World Heritage status. Start with Santa Croce, Palazzo Vecchio, or the Cathedral square, then dive deeper with the Uffizi, Accademia, or Palatine Galleries for what I consider the true Renaissance pilgrimage"

Collaborators

Our Architect: SpaceStudio

Our Abitazione is a harmonious blend of late 19th century architecture and traditional Florentine detail from the 16th and 17th centuries. The area is rich in history, and was itself part of the Tuscan Renaissance when architect Giuseppe Poggi led the transformation of the city, the area, and our neighbours, Viali di Circonvallazione and Piazza della Libertà.

Today we are part of our own Florentine renaissance. Space Studio has carefully preserved our building’s original noble character, restoring our frescos and paintings, and refurbishing the enchanting Cocciopesto Veneziano flooring. Our Abitazione now seamlessly balances contemporary comfort with historic opulence.

Our Interior Designers: RecDi8

Uniting the Renaissance, baroque and neoclassical with modern and contemporary styles, our Abitazione is a miniature of Florence itself.

The focus is on light, order, symmetry, and space, contrasted with the rich velvets and damasks typical of Florence’s opulent history. Here contemporary luxuries shine through, while showcasing our rich cultural past. Never excessive or overloaded, with beauty and functionality in mind.
